The Lebanese Forces issued a statement on Wednesday that it filed a complaint against former Information Minister Michel Samaha last Friday for his allegations and threats issued against the party.
Samaha, who has close ties with Syria, was at the helm of the Ministry of Information under former Prime Minister Rashid al-Solh in 1992, and then under ex-Premier Rafik Hariri from both 1992 until 1995, and 2003 to 2004.
Samaha reportedly launched a smear campaign against Geagea after the LF leader "predicted that a war in the Middle East may soon erupt, something which is being echoed on a daily basis by several Lebanese officials in the region," added the statement.
