Following the March 14 alliance's meeting at the Bristol Hotel on Sunday, Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea held a press conference and told reporters that Lebanon without March 14 would have been a Lebanon without freedoms, "in a totally different position, with a different mission than the one we currently know."

He added that given the alliance's recent challenges, the gathering was important and "Important Issues cannot be resolved instantaneously," Geagea told the conferees.

According to Geagea, the Democratic Gathering bloc might have its reasons for not attending the meeting however will participate in this year's commemoration of the February 14, 2005 assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri in Martyrs' Square.

He said that participation in the commemoration would be as massive as in the past and with the same aspirations. He also said that state building in Lebanon is different than elsewhere and a challenging task.

"It is true that our state is not entirely built, but we are seeking its establishment and are on the right track," added Geagea.

The LF leader also lauded former Prime Minister Fouad Saniora. He did "what was necessary. What the previous government did at the time was right," Geagea said.

He said the "struggle is ongoing" and "the national unity cabinet is a necessity."

The LF leader also asked Hariri and President Michel Suleiman "to work seriously to keep Lebanon away from any jolt in the next few months."

Turning to Hizbullah, Geagea said: "I don't hate Hizbullah and I have no problem with its leadership or people. But we have to admit that there is a danger."
