Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea said Tuesday that skirmishes between southerners and U.N. troops have political intentions and are linked to the Special Tribunal for Lebanon and Security Council sanctions against Iran.
The state needs to act fast, Geagea said following talks with Maronite Patriarch Nasrallah Sfeir in Bkirki.
Asked about reports of a government change, the LF leader said such rumors are aimed at harming civil peace.
Earlier in the day, Sfeir met with former MP Nayla Moawad, Toufiq al-Hindi and Father Elias Khalife.
After her talks with Sfeir, Moawad rejected turning southern Lebanon into a mail box.
