A U.N. committee has questioned Hizbullah witnesses in the murder case of former PM Rafik Hariri, the daily As-Safir reported Friday.
It said the questioning by an investigation team from STL Prosecutor Daniel Bellemare's office took place earlier this week.

While describing the atmosphere of the investigation as "positive," As-Safir said STL officials declined to give details.

The daily, however, quoted U.N. staffers in New York as saying that this step was "technical" and falls within the work of Bellemare's office in Beirut.
