Syria has reportedly expanded its troop buildup near Lebanon's frontiers, deploying troops and artilleries within three kilometers off the Arida border crossing in northern Lebanon.
The terse report by Al-Markazia news agency did not say when the deployment took place.
It said the entire fourth division of the Syrian Army under Maher al-Assad deployed in the area known as Shatt el-Arab on the northern coastal strip only three kilometers off Arida.
The first Syrian troop buildup along Lebanon's northern border was reported Sept. 21.
Later, Syria was also said to have deployed tanks along the border facing the northern Bekaa town of al-Qaa.
