جعجع: خطاب نصر الله اعلان حرب

رأى رئيس الهيئة التنفيذية في "القوات اللبنانية" الدكتور سمير جعجع ان خطاب السيد حسن نصرالله هو "كناية عن اعلان حرب"، وقال: "بغض النظر عن الحيثيات التي انطلق منها وعن الطريقة الذكية التي حاول السيد نصرالله ان يغلّف بها المواقف العملية لـ"حزب الله" الا ان ذلك لا يخفي اعلان الحرب الذي يكمن في جوهر المؤتمر الصحافي". وطالب جعجع اللبنانيين بأن يشاهدوا محطات التلفزة كي يروا جيداً أين يستعمل سلاح الحزب، متمنيا على نصرالله ومسؤولي "حزب الله" إعادة النظر بقرارهم اليوم، "والا سيؤدي الأمر الى الخراب

BEIRUT, Lebanon — Sectarian fighting spread through the streets of Beirut on Thursday as Shiite Hezbollah supporters and the Lebanese government’s Sunni backers battled with machine guns and rocket-propelled grenades shortly after Hezbollah’s leader vowed to fight any attempt to disarm his men.
The violence first erupted in Muslim West Beirut, where masked gunmen on street corners opened fire along Corniche Mazraa, a major thoroughfare that has become a demarcation line between the two sides. There was also fighting in the nearby Ras el-Nabeh area. There was no immediate word on casualties.

Hezbollah's infrastructure is "threat to regional peace": UN envoy

Hezbollah's separate paramilitary infrastructure across Lebanon contributes to the erosion of the state's monopoly on the use of force and represents a "threat to regional peace," a UN envoy said Thursday.
UN Middle East envoy Terje Roed Larsen told the Security Council that Hezbollah, the powerful Iranian-backed Shiite militia, "maintains a massive paramilitary infrastructure separate from the state."

افاد مندوب "الوكالة الوطنية للاعلام" في زحلة خالد عرار ان بعض الشبان اقفلوا طريق ضهر البيدر عند مفرق بلدة مكسه بالاطارات المشتعلة والاتربة، كما قام آخرون عند مفرق بلدة المرج على تحطيم سيارة ديبلوماسية تابعة للسفارة الدنماركية كانت متوجهة الى دمشق، وعندما استحال عليها دخول منطقة المصنع عادت وعند المفرق المذكور انهال عليها متجمهرون بالضرب بالعصي فتحطم كل زجاجها وبعض جوانبها.

"لليوم الثاني على التوالي، تمعن قوى 8 آذار بانتهاك سيادة الدولة اللبنانية والتعدي على المواطنين واملاكهم.
لليوم الثاني على التوالي تعمد هذه القوى الى قطع الطرقات العامة وإرهاب اللبنانيين والتطاول على القوى الشرعية اللبنانية بعدما مهدت لذلك بحملات أمنية وإعلامية متفرقة هدفت الى تقييد الجيش وغيره من القوى الشرعية وشل حركتها بغية إكمال السيطرة السلحفاتية على مفاصل الدولة اللبنانية كافة".

BEIRUT (AFP) — Lebanon's international airport was closed on Thursday because of Hezbollah-led anti-government protests, with all flights cancelled until at least noon (0900 GMT), an airport official told AFP.
"All flights between midnight and noon were cancelled, and then we will see what happens," the official said.
On Wednesday demonstrators blocked the road leading to Rafiq Hariri International Airport with burning tyres and mounds of earth, leaving arriving passengers stranded and forcing others to miss their flights.

وقع اشكال الخميس في 8 أيار بين أنصار للمعارضة والموالاة في منطقة سعدنايل في البقاع اللبناني وانتشرت القوى الامنية بكثافة. وتجدر الاشارة الى أن طريق سعدنايل لا تزال مقطوعة. وقد تم اقفال طريق العمارية باتجاه المرج وزحلة و طريق دير زنون- رياق وتم اقفال نفق سليم سلام في بيروت، ولا تزال طريق كورنيش المزرعة مقطوعة وكان يوم الاربعاء في 7 أيار قد شهد مواجهات في مناطق كورنيش المزرعة ورأس النبع والمصيطبة والطريق الجديدة وبربور، وانتقل التوتر الى البقاع الاوسط حيث قَطع أنصار تيار المستقبل الطريق الرئيسية في تعلبايا - زحلة، ورد مناصرو المعارضة باقفال طريق جلالا - شتورة، ثم اُقفلت طريق شتورا - زحلة، كما قطعت الطريق الدولية عند المصنع.

ظهور المسلحين أعاد للأذهان صور الحرب الأهلية اللبنانية

استيقظ لبنان على يوم ثان من حرق الإطارات وقطع الطرقات في شوارع العاصمة بيروت بشكل خاص، وفق ما نقل مراسل قناة "العربية" الفضائية صباح الخميس 8-5-2008، بينما لمّح رئيس الحكومة اللبنانية فؤاد السنيورة إلى احتمال إعلان حال الطوارئ، وحظر التجول في البلاد، وفق ما تحدث لتلفزيون "المستقبل"، مؤكداً أن الأمر لا يزال خاضعاً للبحث.
وكان المحتجون الموالون للمعارضة قطعوا طريق مطار بيروت الدولي، المحاذي لمنطقة الضاحية الجنوبية، وهو ما دفع شركة طيران الشرق الأوسط (الخطوط الجوية اللبنانية) إعلان تعليق رحلاتها من وإلى العاصمة اللبنانية منذ منتصف ليل الأربعاء حتى ظهر الخميس، "بانتظار تطورات إيجابية".

BEIRUT, Lebanon (AP) — Hezbollah opposition supporters and government backers exchanged gunfire and threw stones Wednesday as a strike by the Shiite militant group paralyzed large parts of Beirut.
The violence deepened tensions in a country already mired in a 17-month-old political crisis pitting the Iranian- and Syrian-backed Hezbollah against the government of Prime Minister Fuad Saniora. The troubles have left the country without a president since November.

Dubai: The Lebanese government raised the stakes in its struggle against the Hezbollah-led opposition on Tuesday, accusing the party of violating the country's sovereignty by operating its own communications network and installing "spy cameras" at Beirut airport. The challenge to Hezbollah is likely to increase tensions in Lebanon amid fears of potential violence that could mar a general strike over price rises today. The strike, called by the main federation of unions, is supported by Hezbollah and other opposition groups.
